The Chiappa Firearms 1874 Sharps is a faithful modern reproduction of the iconic single-shot falling-block rifle, chambered in .45-70 Gov and purpose-built for hunting and target shooting. It pairs a classic 32-inch blued octagon barrel with the period-correct silhouette of the original 19th-century Sharps, but with modern CNC-machined steel internals for the precision today's shooters expect.

At the heart of the action is a traditional falling-block mechanism tripped by a smooth double-set trigger, with the exposed hammer serving as the manual safety. The steel receiver wears a richly mottled color case hardened finish, while the heavy-contour octagon barrel is blued and rifled with a 1:20" twist to stabilize modern .45-70 projectiles. Iron sights are period-correct as well: an adjustable dovetail blade up front and an adjustable ladder rear, giving the classic sight picture long associated with Sharps rifles.
