The shot column is built from nickel-plated lead in #5 shot size, a versatile pellet weight well suited for pheasant, quail, dove, grouse, and other flushing birds. The nickel plating helps individual pellets stay round in flight, retaining velocity and energy downrange for cleaner, more ethical kills and tighter patterns past the 30-yard mark where many upland flushes happen.
