This 30 Caliber projectile - measuring .308" in diameter and weighing 175 grains - uses Berger's signature secant ogive (Very Low Drag) profile combined with a precision boat tail base. That geometry produces a high ballistic coefficient of .498 and a sectional density of .264, giving a flat trajectory and strong resistance to wind drift at extended ranges.

Unlike Berger's pure VLD Target line, the VLD Hunting bullet is specifically designed to expand on game. The copper jacket over a lead core - built around Berger's tight J4 precision jacket concentricity standard - is engineered to penetrate 2-3 inches into the vitals before initiating expansion, then create a massive wound cavity of up to 15 inches.
