The Barrett M99 is a purpose-built single-shot bolt-action rifle chambered in 50 BMG, designed for precision long-range shooting and serious sport use. Drawing on Barrett's expertise in .50 caliber firearm design, the M99 strips the platform down to its essentials: a manually operated action, a heavy match-grade barrel, and a rigid optic-ready receiver, so that one well-placed shot is all it takes.

At the core of the M99 is a 32" heavy barrel with a 1:15" twist, optimized to stabilize the heaviest 50 BMG projectiles. The bolt action is fitted with a crisp match trigger and a manual thumb safety. The receiver is machined from aluminum and finished in Flat Dark Earth Cerakote with contrasting black accents, and is topped with a full-length Picatinny optics rail for mounting a scope or night-vision optic. A ported muzzle brake at the muzzle helps tame the punishing recoil of the 50 BMG cartridge.

The rifle wears a fixed stock equipped with a Sorbothane recoil pad to further soften felt recoil, paired with a black polymer grip configured for right-handed shooters.
