The Barnes Bullets LRX is a premium long-range reloading projectile engineered for handloaders who demand match-grade accuracy from their 7mm hunting rigs. Designed as the extended-range evolution of Barnes' Tipped Triple-Shock X, the LRX pairs a sleek polymer tip for reliable in-flight expansion initiation with a long-profile all-copper body free of any lead core, and a pronounced boat tail for improved ballistic efficiency and downrange energy retention.
Each .284" projectile weighs 139 grains, with an overall length of 1.384", a sectional density of .246, and a high .470 ballistic coefficient. The .470 BC lets the LRX shed velocity slower than typical flat-base hunting designs, giving handloaders the reach they need for open-country and western hunting without sacrificing terminal performance. On impact, the polymer tip initiates expansion while the all-copper construction delivers the durable weight retention and straight-line penetration Barnes is known for on game.
Projectiles are packaged 50 per box and are sold as reloading components intended to be hand-loaded into popular 7mm cases. Barnes publishes load data for the LRX in cartridges including the 7mm PRC (tested at a 24" barrel with a 1:8" twist) and the 7mm Remington Magnum (tested at a 24" barrel with a 1:9.5" twist). Always consult Barnes' published load data for your specific case, primer, barrel length, and twist rate before working up a load.
