The Barnes Bullets Expander MZ is a 54 caliber muzzleloader projectile engineered as the muzzleloading counterpart to Barnes' proven X-Bullet design. Each bullet is precision-formed from 100% copper with a large, hollow cavity that drives rapid, reliable expansion on impact, making it a high-performance choice for hunters chasing big game with a front-loader.

At 275 grains, the Expander MZ delivers a sectional density of 0.211 and a ballistic coefficient of 0.207, producing strong downrange energy and consistent accuracy. Barnes recommends this bullet for use in muzzleloaders with 1:16" to 1:34" twist rates, with published load data covering muzzle velocities from roughly 2000 to 2300 FPS. On impact, the bullet expands to twice its original diameter, deploying six razor-sharp copper petals for devastating wound channels.

Each Expander MZ Hollow Point bullet is built with a copper body and ships in a sabot for use in compatible muzzleloader rifles. This box contains 24 projectiles, ready for loading and hunting-season duty.
