Armaspec SRS-9 Gen 4 9mm AR-9 6-Position Buffer Tube Kit - Black

The Armaspec SRS-9 Gen 4 is a buffer-tube and recoil-system kit configured for 9mm Luger AR-9 and AR-15-pattern firearms that use a carbine-length buffer tube. It combines the stock-mounting tube and required receiver hardware with Armaspec's self-contained recoil assembly, replacing a conventional separate buffer and spring.

The kit includes an SRS-9 Gen 4 captured multistage recoil assembly, a mil-spec six-position buffer tube, a steel castle nut, and a steel receiver end plate. The buffer tube is machined from 7075-T6 aluminum, while the complete assembly has a black matte finish. The SRS-9 provides a 6.4-ounce equivalent buffer weight, and the complete Gen 4 recoil system with its stainless-steel weight is listed at 9.5 ounces.

Its captured design keeps the spring from rubbing against the inside of the buffer tube and maintains the buffer mass under tension against the bolt carrier. The multistage system uses a second stage to reduce felt recoil. Gen 4 construction omits the earlier weight O-ring, secures the polymer end piece with a roll pin rather than a screw, and uses a machined rod cap and washer in place of the previous snap-ring arrangement.

The SRS-9 can be installed with or without a buffer retainer. For proper operation in a 9mm build, the removable weight at the rear of the 9mm bolt carrier must be removed. Bolt carriers with rear openings smaller than 0.60 inch are not compatible.
