The Armaspec SMB-H3 Sound Mitigation Buffer Gen 3 is an AR-15 buffer upgrade engineered to reduce felt recoil and the audible "clack" of a standard carbine buffer moving inside the receiver extension. Armaspec's third-generation Sound Mitigation Buffer (SMB) uses a tuned internal weight and spring system that slows buffer travel, smoothing the action and quieting the rifle from the shooter's perspective.

This is the H3 heavy-weight variant of the SMB line, recommended for AR-15 builds with heavier bolt carrier groups, adjustable gas systems, or shorter barrels that benefit from additional reciprocating mass to ensure reliable cycling. The buffer is finished in Stainless/Black and the complete buffer kit weighs 5.6 oz.
