At its core sits a Gen 3 Auto-Gated White Phosphor Level 1 intensifier tube delivering a resolution of 64-72 Ip/mm, producing the crisp black-and-white image favored by professionals for depth perception and reduced eye fatigue during extended wear.

The UNVG provides a true 1x magnification with a wide 40-degree field of view and a usable focus range from 0.25 m to infinity. Advanced multi-coated optics are housed in a compact composite housing built to military-style durability standards and rated waterproof for dependable field performance in adverse conditions. Ergonomic, simple controls allow the operator to make adjustments without breaking night-adapted vision.

The unit is head or helmet-mountable for true hands-free operation and features an integral infrared (IR) illuminator for reading maps, zeroing, or working in complete darkness at close range. Power comes from a single AA or CR123A battery, delivering up to 15 hours of runtime; the included external battery pack extends operating time to approximately 50 hours for sustained missions.
