The K98k was the primary rifle for the German Wehrmacht during World War II. After World War I, Germany began selling rifles to Portugal around 1931. Early contracts featured beautifully blued Mauser rifles with Portuguese crests. In the 1940s, Portugal received K98k replicas, similar to the 1941 Nazi K98k, but some were diverted to German service due to wartime losses. To compensate, Germany reclaimed K98k rifles from the Wehrmacht in 1942-1943 and delivered them to Portugal. These rifles bear the Portuguese crest and resemble the 1941 Mauser Oberndorf K98k Wehrmacht-issue rifles with Nazi markings.

Stock not matching
I bought 2 of these, sold as matching bayonet and serial numbers. The overall condition was good, but none of them had the original stock, matching the other serial numbers. Screws and cleaning rods were also not matching. Looks like it was arsenal replaced. Overall still a nice piece of history.
