The Wilson Combat 423S is a High Ride Ambidextrous Thumb Safety built as a replacement part for 1911-pattern pistols. It is engineered to provide a comfortable thumb rest for shooters who prefer to ride their thumbs high on the slide during the firing grip.

Both sides of the lever are extended, wide, and angled downward to deliver greatly enhanced shooter comfort while still allowing rapid engagement and disengagement of the safety under recoil or when bringing the pistol back on target. The ambidextrous design is an excellent choice for left-handed shooters looking for a slightly wider lever on the right side of the gun, and it also gives right-handed users a larger, more positive surface to operate with the support-hand thumb.
