Each target ships in a high-visibility jar filled with a non-hazardous, non-toxic, and stable two-part chemical mixture that bursts with a loud report and visible blast the instant it is struck - delivering unmistakable audio/visual feedback on hit placement downrange.

To initiate the reaction, the target must be struck with a centerfire rifle projectile weighing at least 40 grains and traveling a minimum of 2,200 fps. Pistol and rimfire rounds will not reliably set these targets off, which makes them purpose-built for centerfire rifle use behind an approved backstop.
