The housing is machined from aluminum and finished in non-reflective matte black, and the sealed unit is rated shock, water, and weather proof for dependable field use in adverse conditions.

At its core, the IRMO-100C pairs a 19mm objective lens with a high-resolution 640x480 thermal sensor on a 12-micron pixel pitch, refreshing at 30Hz for smooth real-time imaging. The monocular delivers 1x magnification with a 22-degree field of view and supports a diopter adjustment range of -6 to +2 for personalized focus. Manual controls and an intuitive icon-based menu make operation straightforward, while the polarity mode lets the user switch between three levels of white hot and three levels of black hot to match changing target contrast.

Power is supplied by a single CR123 battery, providing approximately 2 hours of continuous runtime. The IRMO-100C weighs just 16 oz, making it well suited for handheld scanning and observation in the field.
