The Hiviz SW617-R is an overmolded steel front sight purpose-built for Smith & Wesson 617, 647, and 648 revolver models. The all-steel body carries a red LitePipe fiber optic insert that gathers ambient light and delivers a bright, high-contrast aiming point for faster, more intuitive target acquisition in daylight conditions.

Designed as a direct pinned replacement for the factory front blade, the SW617-R replaces the original sight and is locked in place with the included roll pin, requiring no permanent gunsmithing. The resin-overmolded LitePipe construction protects the fiber optic element from breakage, cleaning solvents, and rough handling, giving you a durable visibility upgrade that stands up to regular range sessions. The installed sight height sits at .165" for a clean, factory-style sight picture with the original rear blade.
