The Kershaw 1423 Dawnstar is a tactical everyday-carry folder built around an aggressive 3.5" hawkbill blade ground from 8Cr13MoV stainless steel and finished with a BlackWash coating that helps hide scratches from hard use. The curved hawkbill profile excels at slicing rope, cordage, and strap material with a controlled draw cut, while a secondary false edge along the top of the blade opens up push cuts when you need them.

Deployment is fast thanks to Kershaw's SpeedSafe assisted opening activated by a flipper tab, and the blade locks up solid via a liner lock. The handle is molded in textured glass-filled nylon (GFN) for a confident grip even in wet or gloved hands, and a reversible pocket clip supports both left- and right-side tip-up carry.
