The Thompson Center Arms Encore Pro Hunter 1870R is the serialized pistol frame at the heart of Thompson/Center's renowned interchangeable Encore system. Machined from stainless steel with a satin stainless finish, this break-action, single-shot frame ships complete with a black FlexTech grip and matching forearm - the foundation for building a custom Encore pistol in the shooter's preferred caliber.

The Encore platform is engineered around barrel interchangeability, allowing a single serialized frame to host a variety of pistol-length barrels. The Pro Hunter variant adds the distinctive swing-hammer design, with a hammer spur that pivots left, right, or straight back to provide clearance behind mounted optics. Because the frame is caliber-agnostic, the same 1870R can be paired with centerfire, muzzleloader, or rifled shotgun pistol barrels as the shooter chooses.
