The Taurus 692 is a versatile medium-frame revolver built around Taurus' signature interchangeable-cylinder design, letting the shooter switch between .38 Special +P/.357 Magnum and 9mm Luger with a simple cylinder swap. This configuration pairs a 6.50" vent-rib barrel with a matte stainless steel finish across the barrel, cylinder, and frame for a rugged, low-glare look.

The action is a traditional double-action/single-action with an exposed spurred hammer for deliberate single-strike work, backed by a transfer-bar safety. A 7-shot cylinder holds the rounds, while sights consist of a fixed front blade and an adjustable rear for dialing in holdover at distance. Black Ribber grips give positive control against the platform's 46 oz mass.
