The Mossberg 590 Shockwave is a compact, BATFE-compliant firearm chambered in 410 Gauge with a 3-inch chamber. Built around Mossberg's iconic Raptor bird's-head pistol grip, uniquely shaped to minimize felt recoil, this purpose-built platform delivers a secure, natural hold. With an overall length of 26.37 inches, the 590 Shockwave falls within federal guidelines that exempt it from NFA short-barreled shotgun classification, so no tax stamp is required for ownership.

Built on Mossberg's proven pump-action platform, the 590 Shockwave features a 14.38-inch heavy-walled barrel with a cylinder bore for wide, effective patterning at close range. Capacity is 5+1 rounds of 3-inch 410 bore shells, fed through the clean-out magazine tube. The clean-out tube magazine cap allows for quick, tool-free clearing of the magazine tube.

The receiver is machined from blued stainless steel and is drilled and tapped for optic mounting, allowing easy addition of a red dot or reflex sight. Sights consist of a fast-target-acquiring bead front. The straddle "corn cob" forend is designed to keep the shooter's lead hand clear of the muzzle during pump cycling.

This model carries a classic matte blued metal finish on the heavy-walled barrel and stainless receiver, paired with a black Raptor bird's-head grip.
