The Smith & Wesson Model 1854 is a modern lever-action rifle chambered in 45-70 Government, drawing on the classic styling of S&W's historic 19th-century rifle while adding contemporary features for today's shooter.

Built around a stainless steel receiver finished in Black Armornite, the 1854 pairs a 20" threaded barrel with an 11/16x24 thread pitch and a 1:20" twist for stabilized performance with both traditional and modern 45-70 Government loads. The receiver is topped with a Picatinny rail for easy optics mounting, and the rifle is fitted with a gold bead front sight and an adjustable XS ghost-ring rear sight for fast, intuitive target acquisition right out of the box.

The rifle feeds from a tubular magazine for a total capacity of 6+1 rounds and runs a smooth, reliable lever action with a large loop lever that cycles easily, even with gloved hands. A crossbolt safety provides positive control. The fixed stock is crafted from walnut with textured grip panels on the wrist and forend for secure handling in the field.

Measuring 37.80" overall and tipping the scales at approximately 7.10 lbs, the Model 1854 balances nicely between a packable brush gun and a stable hunting rifle.
