The Weatherby Mark V Backcountry Guide is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 6.5 Creedmoor and engineered for hunters who cover big country on foot. Built on Weatherby's legendary Mark V action, this rifle pairs a precision 22" fluted, threaded barrel with the company's Accubrake ST muzzle brake (adding 2" to overall length) to effectively manage recoil without piling unnecessary weight out at the muzzle.
At the heart of the Backcountry Guide is a steel receiver machined to Weatherby's tight tolerances and fitted with a premium TriggerTech trigger for a clean, crisp break. The action is paired with a two-position safety and a 1:8" twist barrel optimized to stabilize the wide range of 6.5 Creedmoor bullet weights used in modern hunting and long-range shooting. With a 3+1 capacity fed from an internal box magazine, the rifle ships with no iron sights installed, leaving the receiver ready for the shooter to mount their preferred optic.
The stock is a lightweight Fixed Peak 44 Blacktooth in camouflage finish, designed to cut weight and blend into western big-game terrain. At just 5.60 lbs and 44" overall, the Backcountry Guide is a true mountain rifle that can be carried all day without fatigue, yet still delivers the accuracy and reliability that have defined the Mark V line for decades. This model is configured for right-hand shooters.
