The Weatherby Mark V Backcountry Guide is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in 257 Weatherby Magnum, designed for backcountry hunters who demand a lightweight, accurate rifle capable of taming the recoil of Weatherby's belted magnum cartridges.

At its core is the legendary Mark V action paired with a fluted and threaded 24" carbon-fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel. The barrel features a 1:10" twist optimized for magnum-class bullet weights and is tipped with Weatherby's Accubrake ST muzzle brake to reduce felt recoil and muzzle jump. The steel receiver is drilled and tapped for scope mounting, as this rifle ships without iron sights.

Feeding from an internal 3+1 magazine, the Backcountry Guide uses a TriggerTech trigger for a clean, adjustable break and a two-position safety at the rear of the bolt. The fixed Peak 44 Blacktooth stock is finished in a hunting camouflage pattern, keeping overall weight to 6.40 lbs with an overall length of 44".
