Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter 7mm PRC 22" 2+1 Straight-Pull Bolt Rifle

The Savage Impulse Mountain Hunter is a lightweight straight-pull bolt-action rifle chambered in 7mm PRC, purpose-built for backcountry hunters who need to cover big country on foot. At the core of the Mountain Hunter is a 22" Proof Research carbon fiber-wrapped stainless steel barrel with a 1:8" twist, threaded at the muzzle and fitted with Savage's OmniPort muzzle brake. The barrel locks into a black anodized aluminum receiver machined with an integrated 20-MOA Picatinny optics rail for direct scope mounting.

Savage's straight-pull Impulse action replaces the traditional lift-and-rotate bolt throw with a smooth rearward-and-forward stroke, dramatically speeding up follow-up shots without sacrificing the strength of a multi-lug bolt lockup. The action ships with Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger (adjustable from 1.5 to 4 lbs), a tang safety, and a removable ambidextrous bolt handle that can be swapped to either side of the receiver for true left-hand friendly operation. A 2+1 capacity feeds from a detachable box magazine, with one round staged in the chamber for an immediate shot.

The Mountain Hunter chassis starts with a gray synthetic AccuStock with an adjustable comb and length-of-pull spacers, finished with a soft-touch texture for grip in cold and wet conditions. The rifle measures 43.50" overall and weighs just 7.34 lbs unloaded, light enough for all-day carries in steep terrain. No iron sights are included; the receiver rail is set up for direct optic mounting, and the threaded barrel is ready for suppressor or aftermarket muzzle-device use.
