The Savage Axis 2 XP Combo packages Savage Arms' proven entry-level centerfire platform with a factory-mounted scope, delivering a ready-to-hunt rifle straight out of the box. Chambered in the straight-wall 400 Legend for hunters pursuing big game in states with restrictive centerfire regulations, this left-hand rifle features a 20-inch matte black sporter barrel with a 1:16" twist and a full overall length of 42.5 inches.

At its core is a traditional bolt-action built on a carbon steel receiver finished in matte black to match the barrel, and the receiver is drilled and tapped for scope bases. Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets shooters dial in their preferred pull weight without a trip to a gunsmith. A 4+1 capacity is fed by a 4-round detachable box magazine, and the rifle ships with no iron sights - the platform is set up from the factory for optic use.

This configuration carries an ergonomic hardwood stock finished in classic brown, offering the traditional walnut look favored by hunters who want a more refined alternative to synthetic. The left-hand action and stock layout is purpose-built for southpaw shooters, and the stock's profile provides a comfortable cheek weld for both prone and sitting positions. Rifle weight comes in at approximately 7.8 lbs, balanced for both stand hunting and walking shots.
