The Savage Axis 2 Pro Forest SP Camo Compact is a purpose-built 243 Win bolt-action hunting rifle that blends Savage's proven accuracy platform with the upgraded ergonomics of the Pro series. Chambered in the versatile 243 Winchester, the compact overall geometry with a 12.75" length of pull makes it a natural fit for smaller-framed shooters and anyone who prefers a more maneuverable rifle in the field or from a blind.

At the core of the rifle is a 20" carbon steel barrel with a spiral-fluted profile and threaded muzzle in 5/8x24, ready for a suppressor or muzzle brake right out of the box. The barrel is paired with a carbon steel receiver finished in a corrosion-resistant Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote, and Savage's signature user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you dial in a clean, crisp pull without a trip to the gunsmith. The action uses Savage's thread-in headspacing system for consistent lockup and dependable accuracy shot after shot, and the barrel carries a 1:10" twist rate.

The compact synthetic stock is dressed in Forest SP Camo and shaped with a fixed design and integrated pistol grip for a confident hold. Overall length comes in at 39.50", and the rifle tips the scales at 6.70 lbs - light enough to carry all day on a hunt. The action is fed by a detachable 4-round box magazine for a 4+1 total capacity, the bolt is configured for right-hand shooters, and the rifle ships with no iron sights installed so you can mount the optic of your choice.
