Savage Axis 2 Pro Compact 308 Win 20" 4+1 Bolt Action Rifle - Right Hand

The Savage Axis 2 Pro Compact is a purpose-built bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester. This right-hand Compact configuration pairs the second-generation Axis action with a full suite of modern upgrades that bring serious value to hunters and shooters who want a short, easy-handling centerfire rifle.

At its core sits a 20-inch heavy sporter barrel cut from carbon steel and finished in Gun Metal Bronze Cerakote for corrosion and weather resistance in the field. The barrel is threaded for a muzzle device or suppressor and is paired with a carbon steel receiver wearing the matching Cerakote finish and topped with a Picatinny rail for straightforward optic mounting. The bore uses a 1:10 twist, well suited to stabilizing a wide range of .308 Win bullet weights.

The action feeds from a four-round detachable box magazine (4+1) and benefits from Savage's renowned user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which provides a clean, customizable break out of the box. Carried over from Savage's higher-end centerfire line, the updated bolt handle and thread-in headspacing system round out the action upgrades.

The stock is a fixed Western Camo-pattern synthetic in a brown finish group, keeping weight down and providing solid grip in wet or cold conditions. Overall length is 39.50 inches and the rifle tips the scales at 6.70 lbs, making it well balanced for carry in the field, from a vehicle, or out of a layout blind. Iron sights are not included, allowing the new owner to mount their preferred optic directly to the factory Picatinny rail.
