The Savage Axis 2 Compact is an affordable bolt action hunting rifle chambered in 308 Win, designed for big game hunters who want Savage accuracy in a shorter, more maneuverable package. This right-hand configuration pairs a 20" heavy sporter barrel with a matte black drilled and tapped carbon steel receiver and a fixed matte gray synthetic stock with improved ergonomics over the original Axis platform.

At the heart of the Axis 2 Compact is Savage's signature user-adjustable AccuTrigger, which lets shooters fine-tune pull weight to their preference without a trip to the gunsmith. The 20" heavy sporter contour barrel features a 1:10" twist, while the matte black carbon steel action is drilled and tapped for scope mounting right out of the box.
