The Savage Axis 2 Compact is a bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .308 Winchester. It carries a 20-inch Heavy Sporter profile barrel finished in matte black, with a 1:10 twist rate suited to a broad spread of 308 Win bullet weights for hunting and field use.

Savage's user-adjustable AccuTrigger is standard, letting the shooter dial in pull weight to taste without gunsmith help. The action is paired with a carbon steel receiver in matte black that is drilled and tapped for scope mounting; no iron sights are installed, allowing the buyer to top the rifle with their preferred optic.

The redesigned fixed OD Green synthetic stock features enhanced texturing and ambidextrous palm swells on the pistol grip for a secure hold in adverse conditions.
