The Savage Axis 2 Compact is a purpose-built hunting rifle chambered in 243 Win, designed for shooters who want Savage accuracy in a shorter, lighter package that's easier to handle in the field and from the stand.

This model pairs a 20" heavy sporter barrel in matte black with a 1:9.25" twist rate and a matte black drilled and tapped carbon steel receiver that's ready for your optic of choice. The redesigned Axis 2 platform brings improved ergonomics, and the user-adjustable AccuTrigger lets you dial in a clean, crisp pull for consistent shot placement on game and paper alike.

The rifle wears a fixed matte gray synthetic stock built to shrug off rough weather and hard use, tipping the scales at 6.40 lbs with an overall length of 39.50". It feeds from a 4-round detachable box magazine for a 4+1 capacity, and ships without iron sights so you can mount the glass you prefer on the factory drilled and tapped action.
