The Glenfield Model A is an approachable bolt-action hunting rifle chambered in .243 Winchester. Glenfield is Ruger's revived budget line, and the Model A delivers no-nonsense field performance in a trim, traditional configuration intended for hunters who want a reliable rifle without the extra cost.

At the front end sits a 20" cold hammer-forged steel barrel with a threaded muzzle (thread protector included) and a 1:9" RH twist that comfortably handles the .243 Win's common factory bullet weights. The barrel is joined to a matte black alloy steel receiver topped with an integrated Picatinny rail, so a riflescope mounts directly with no separate base required.

The bolt feeds a 4+1 round internal box magazine. Shooters get an adjustable trigger user-set between roughly 3 and 5 pounds, paired with a traditional tang-mounted safety. The rifle ships without iron sights installed, leaving it scope-ready right out of the box.
