The Thompson TAO50 is a bolt-action .50 BMG rifle manufactured by Auto-Ordnance, engineered for extreme long-range performance and uncompromising power. Built around an aluminum receiver finished in Flat Dark Earth anodizing with an integrated Picatinny optics rail, this tactical platform pairs a heavy-duty action with precision components well suited to long-distance shooting.

The TAO50 is built around a 29" steel barrel with a 1:15 twist, optimized to stabilize the heavy projectiles associated with the .50 BMG cartridge. A factory-installed muzzle brake tames felt recoil, and the rifle ships optics-ready with no iron sights fitted, leaving the rail clear for a magnified long-range scope.

Internally, the action is paired with a Timney trigger for a clean, consistent break, and an ambidextrous safety allows easy manipulation from either shoulder. A 10+1 capacity feeds from a detachable magazine, and the platform measures 61" overall with a substantial 25.5 lb unloaded weight that anchors the rifle for prone or supported shooting.

Ergonomics are handled by proven Magpul furniture: a Magpul PRS Gen3 polymer stock with adjustable cheek and length-of-pull for a tailored fit, paired with a Magpul MOE+ grip for positive control. The rifle ships with a factory-included Accu-Tac bipod, providing a stable shooting platform out of the box so the TAO50 is ready for optic installation and range use.
