The Springfield Armory 1911 DS Prodigy takes the classic 1911 double-stack platform and updates it for modern carry and defensive use. Chambered in 9mm Luger and fed by a 10+1 double-stack magazine, this AOS (Agency Optic System) variant wears a low-glare Black Cerakote finish over a forged steel frame and forged carbon steel slide.

At the heart of the Prodigy sits a 4.25" forged stainless steel match-grade bull barrel with a 1:16 twist. The slide is cut for the Agency Optic System and is both optic ready and serrated for confident press-checks, and ships with a HEX Dragonfly-compatible plate for direct mounting of today's most popular micro red dots without adapter shims.

Controls follow the time-tested 1911 pattern with a single-action trigger and an ambidextrous thumb safety for true left- or right-hand operation. Polymer grips keep carry weight down while providing a secure hold. This low-capacity configuration ships with two 10-round magazines, making it ready for use in capacity-restricted jurisdictions right out of the box.
