The Colt 1911 Competition Government in 9mm Luger is a purpose-built target pistol from Colt's Series 70 Competition lineup, engineered to deliver match-grade accuracy straight from the factory. Built on the full-size Government platform with a 5" National Match barrel and an overall length of 8.5", this SAO semi-auto carries 9+1 rounds and is finished in rugged stainless steel.

The slide is optic ready with a serrated profile that cuts glare and aids positive manipulation, paired with a stainless steel frame fitted with an extended beavertail for a high, comfortable grip. A skeletonized trigger shortens reach and reduces perceived pull weight, complemented by ambidextrous grip and thumb safeties so the gun runs naturally in either hand. Checkered Blue G10 grips with the Colt logo fill the hand and stay planted during fast strings.

For sighting, the Competition Government wears a Novak fiber optic front paired with an adjustable rear, delivering a fast, precise sight picture ideal for USPSA, IDPA, and traditional bullseye competition. At 36 oz, the pistol balances naturally and tracks smoothly between targets. The O1072CCSOR ships factory-cut for red-dot optics, allowing direct mounting without custom machining.
