The Taurus 1911 Standard in .45 ACP is a single-action-only (SAO) full-size semi-auto pistol purpose-built for personal protection and sport shooting. Built in the Taurus factory from hammer-forged (not cast) ordnance-grade steel, the frame, slide, and barrel are machined to tight tolerances and then hand-fitted and tuned by skilled Taurus pistolsmiths using 19 standard features. The slide, barrel, and frame are stamped with matching serial numbers for a complete, serialized package.

At the heart of the platform is a 5" hammer-forged stainless steel barrel with a 1:16" twist, housed in a matte black serrated steel slide. The matte black steel full-size frame carries an 8+1 capacity and includes an integrated Picatinny accessory rail for mounting lights or lasers, plus a beavertail grip extension. Novak drift-adjustable front and rear sights deliver a clean sight picture and easy sight work, while black checkered polymer grips keep the package light and durable in the hand.

Controls are classic 1911: a single-action trigger, a manual thumb safety, a grip safety, and a firing pin block. The pistol weighs 39.4 oz unloaded and ships with two 8-round magazines, so it is ready for the range or for defensive use right out of the box.
