The Smith & Wesson Model 617 is a purpose-built target revolver chambered in .22 LR, carried on S&W's classic K-Frame platform that has long been a favorite of military and police professionals, target shooters, and rimfire enthusiasts. Built around a full-lug barrel and finished in a satin stainless steel treatment across the frame, barrel, and cylinder, the 617 is engineered for the range while retaining the durability of an all-stainless revolver.

This configuration features a 4-inch barrel, an overall length of 9.10", and a 10-shot cylinder, paired with a DA/SA (double-action/single-action) action and an exposed hammer for precise single-shot control. Target-grade sighting comes from a Patridge front sight paired with an adjustable rear sight, while the black finger-grooved polymer grip keeps the revolver at a manageable 39 oz unloaded. S&W's internal lock is included for safe storage.
