Sierra's Spitzer Blitz design pairs a thin copper jacket over a lead core and lead tip, with no cannelure and a sectional density of 0.157. The thin jacket is purpose-built for medium-velocity applications, typically under 3600 fps, in popular small-bore cartridges such as the .222 Remington and .223 Remington, where the bullet is intended to expand violently and dump maximum energy into the target.
