The Hornady Dangerous Game load is centerfire rifle ammunition chambered in 500 Nitro Express 3-inch and intended for large-game and safari hunting. Each cartridge pairs a 570 gr DGX Bonded expanding bullet with a brass case.

The flat-nose DGX Bonded projectile uses a copper-clad steel jacket bonded to a lead core. This construction is designed to prevent jacket-and-core separation while supporting controlled expansion, deep penetration, and high retained weight. Serrated bullet sections help the projectile expand to approximately 1.5 to 2 times its original diameter, and its profile matches the corresponding Hornady DGS solid.
