The HSM Bear Load is a purpose-built .45 Colt hunting load designed for outdoorsmen who need serious stopping power against large, dangerous game. Loaded to a +P pressure level, this round is intended as a hard-hitting backup for bear country and other wilderness situations where a revolver has to put a heavy animal down decisively.

The Bear Load uses a hefty 325-grain Wide Flat Nose (WFN) lead bullet seated in a brass case and fitted with a gas check at the base. The wide, flat-nose meplat is built to drive a broad wound channel and push penetration deep through heavy hide, muscle, and bone, while the gas check keeps the soft lead from smearing in the bore so the load holds velocity and accuracy at practical handgun hunting distances.

Muzzle velocity is rated at 1155 fps, generating 963 ft lbs of muzzle energy. The +P pressure rating makes this a load best suited to modern, heavy-framed .45 Colt revolvers rated to handle the higher pressure.
