We’ve just received a limited batch of steel-framed Model 70S pistols in .380 ACP. Built from 1977 to 1985 as the final evolution of Beretta’s compact 70-series, each pistol keeps the 3.5″ barrel and straight-blowback action yet adds a magazine-disconnect safety, thumb-lever safety, and push-button magazine release. The 70S was offered in .22 LR, .32 ACP, and .380 ACP; this lot is the desirable .380 variant.
The primary difference between the older Model 70 and the Model 70S is the magazine safety. The 70S will not fire without the magazine inserted, whereas the original 70 (offered only in .32 ACP) used a cross-bolt safety and lacked any magazine block. Overall condition is graded GOOD, with bright, shiny bores and honest wear on the original blued finish.
Matched frames & magazines
Beretta produced two frame stampings: one reads “Dissassembled” in English, the other in Italian. Their magazines differ (chrome vs. blued follower) and do not interchange. During inspection we pre-paired each pistol with its correct magazine.
WAREHOUSE NOTE!
About 30% of the original shipment lacked mags. We took those guns off the shelf, used their magazines to equip the best pistols, and set the rest aside.
The result? Every pistol in this batch is the cream of the crop. Bores are bright and shiny, finish wear is honest but very presentable.
