I've owned several 1911 45 autos, from Colt, Kimber, Nighthawk, Springfield and more. I tried every brand of ammunition that I could find to get the tightest shot groups with my Kimbers and Nighthawk out to 50 feet, then 100 feet and farther out to the ammo manufacturer's listed maximum effective range. I was very impressed with the shot groups using Federal Premium HST +P JHP 230gr. in full size Kimbers and a Nighthawk from 25 feet, 50 feet and 100 feet away. Two other brands were very close, Gold Dot +P JHP 230gr. and Buffalo Bore 230gr. But Federal Premium HST +P 230gr edged out to become the most accurate and dependable round of ammo I could find for these beautiful, hard hitting handguns after an expensive day at the shooting range. The chrome plated brass is a plus when storing this ammunition for longer periods, it gives your ammo added protection but the best long term protection for your ammo is storing it in an area with very low humidity such as a safe or airtight footlocker while also using silicone dessicants to remove dampness and humidity in the closed space, give your ammo the same protection as you would give your most expensive firearms.
