Description

The CZ 83 is a compact, all-steel DA/SA pistol chambered in .380 ACP, prized for its fixed-barrel blowback operation, soft recoil, and smooth trigger. With a ~3.8" barrel, double-stack capacity, and ambidextrous controls, it remains one of the most refined surplus compacts on the market.

HG2178C-X “Chrome” Variant: This surplus run is noted for blued steel with bright chrome accents on select small parts (varies by unit). See photos for the exact configuration you’ll receive.

Historical Note: Introduced in the early 1980s as the commercial/export counterpart to the military vz. 82, the CZ 83 carried on Czechoslovakia’s tradition of robust service pistols made by Česká zbrojovka (CZ). Its reliable blowback system, excellent ergonomics, and ambidextrous safety made it popular with European police forces and civilian shooters for decades.

  • Caliber: .380 ACP (9×17)

  • Barrel Length: ~3.8" (fixed-barrel blowback)
  • Construction: All-steel, blued with chrome accent parts (per unit)
  • Controls: Ambidextrous manual safety; classic CZ ergonomics
