Description

Debuting in 1958 as the "New Puma," the Beretta Model 70 represented a complete redesign of Beretta's medium-frame pistols, replacing earlier models like the 924, 935, and 949. This steel-framed, single-action pocket pistol chambered for .32 ACP (7.65×17mm Browning) retained the distinctive "Beretta look" while introducing modern features including a graceful sweep up to the frame at the front of the trigger guard. The Model 70 features an extended barrel guide (nearly matching Olympic target pistol length) for enhanced accuracy, improved sear release mechanism for a crisp trigger pull, push-button magazine release for rapid mag changes, and simplified field-strip takedown. The barrel is threaded with 1/2x20 thread pitch (faux suppressors have been removed), allowing for suppressor or muzzle device attachment.

The safety system evolved significantly during production. Early models featured a cross-bolt push-button safety, which was later replaced around 1969 with a lever-type frame-mounted thumb safety (still a sear block) for faster operation. By the late 1970s, a magazine safety was added in the Model 70S variant. Widely issued to Italian police forces and replacing the wartime M1935, production continued until the late 1980s with final importation in 1987. Today, surplus examples in their deep-blued finish are prized for their historical pedigree and timeless Beretta styling.

Available Variants:

HG0015G - Good Condition (Later Model with Frame-Mounted Thumb Safety)
This .32 ACP version is a Post-1969 model most commonly seen today with the upgraded frame-mounted lever-type thumb safety. These examples are in NRA Good condition.

HG0015CB - Good Condition (Cross-Bolt Safety Early Version)
