Issued as the “Patrol” layer of the Modular Sleep System, this bag uses a tough OD rip stop nylon shell, a synthetic hollow fiber fill and a draw cord hood to keep troops comfortable from 30° - 50°F. At just 2 lb 7 oz it stuffs down smaller than a volleyball and rides inside the bivy or zips to the heavier Intermediate bag for sub-freezing temps.
