Original factory 20-round magazine for the SIG 542/SG 540 series battle rifles chambered in .308 Winchester / 7.62x51 NATO. These detachable box magazines feature steel construction for durability and reliable feeding.

The SIG 542 magazines use a straight-body design (unlike the curved 30-round variant) and share the same spring design as the 10-round magazines. Compatible with the SIG SG 542 and Manurhin-produced variants.

Historical Background: The SIG SG 540 series was developed by SIG (Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft) in Switzerland during the early 1970s. Due to Swiss neutrality laws restricting arms exports, SIG licensed production to Manurhin of France, who manufactured rifles and magazines from 1978 to 1988. The SG 542 was the full-power 7.62x51mm NATO battle rifle variant, adopted by the Lebanese Armed Forces, French Army, Portuguese Army, and Chilean Armed Forces (via FAMAE). The robust steel construction contributed to the platform's reputation for reliability in harsh conditions.
