Description
This Polish CKM wz. 43 (SG-43 Goryunov) barrel assembly is an intact original with all hardware complete. The CKM wz. 43 (Ciężki Karabin Maszynowy wzór 43 - Heavy Machine Gun Model 43) was Poland's licensed production of the legendary Soviet SG-43 Goryunov medium machine gun. Manufactured by H. Cegielski in Poznań, Poland from 1949 through the 1960s, these machine guns served with the Polish People's Army (Ludowe Wojsko Polskie) throughout the Cold War era.
The original Soviet SG-43 Goryunov was developed by P.M. Goryunov from 1940-1943 and adopted in May 1943 to replace the older M1910 Maxim machine guns. Chambered in 7.62×54mmR, it saw extensive service throughout World War II, the Korean War, and numerous conflicts worldwide. As part of Warsaw Pact standardization, Poland began license production under the designation CKM wz. 43, equipping Polish motorized infantry units and serving as a frontline weapon until replaced by the PK/PKM machine gun family in the late 1960s.
This barrel features the smooth barrel design characteristic of early SG-43 production, with air-cooled operation and chromium-plated bore able to withstand continuous fire. The gun achieved a rate of fire of 500-700 rounds/min with a muzzle velocity of 800 m/s. Known for its remarkable reliability, the SG-43 design was praised for its simple barrel-change mechanism and few feed jams despite its complex belt-feed system.
This barrel assembly is Polish manufactured by H. Cegielski and represents an excellent opportunity for collectors, builders, or parts replacements. Includes all original hardware in Good condition. A rare piece of Warsaw Pact military history from Poland's Cold War era production of this influential machine gun design.
