The PE57 is a Swiss-made assault rifle that was developed in the late 1950s by the Swiss firearms manufacturer SIG (Schweizerische Industrie Gesellschaft). It was designed to replace the older Swiss service rifle, the K31, and served as the standard issue rifle for the Swiss Armed Forces. The PE57 is chambered for the 7.5x55mm Swiss cartridge and features a gas-operated, rotating bolt mechanism, which enhances its reliability and accuracy. One of its notable characteristics is the use of a modular design, allowing for easy maintenance and customization.
