The Webley & Scott produced single-shot, break open Signal Pistols were used by British & Commonwealth Military Forces during the First and Second World Wars. Using modern stamped-steel construction, this No. 1 Mk V signal pistol retains the classic early look of the "blunderbuss" belled muzzle. The flanged muzzle extension as a safety feature was to keep the operator's hand clear of the muzzle when the barrel was depressed for loading and unloading shells from its breech.
