The HK4 is a fascinating snapshot into the genesis of Heckler & Koch's pistol program. The HK4 was their first model ever manufactured! Made during the mid 1960s it saw widespread success on the civilian market, as well as some limited use by the West German government. Much of this success was due to this pistol being able to switch calibers between .22, .25, .32, & .380! To do this all one has to do is change out the magazine, recoil spring, and barrel. This modularity helped to make it such a prevalent pick. This flexibility likely led to the West German Customs service selecting it as their sidearm of choice for a time. If you're into H&K, Cold War pistols, or just interesting pistol designs you'd be well served picking one of these up for it's historical value, sleek design, and range plinking potential!
