The East German MPI KMS72 (Maschinenpistole Kalashnikow mit Klappschaft, Schulterstütze 1972) is the East German designation for the folding-stock variant of the AKM/AKMS produced by VEB Fahrzeug- und Waffenfabrik "Ernst Thälmann" in Suhl, East Germany. Chambered in 7.62x39, the MPi-KMS-72 was standard issue for NVA (Nationale Volksarmee) paratroopers, vehicle crews, and special forces throughout the Cold War.
This kit is dated 1975 with serial number DA4914. Features a bright bore and includes correct German components: Bolt, Carrier, Recoil Spring Assembly, Upper Handguard, Lower Handguard, Pistol Grip, Rear Sight, Front Sight Assembly, Stock, Gas Tube, Muzzle Device, and Magazine Release. No rear sight markings present.
