Description
The Beretta PM12 is one of the most iconic Italian submachine guns of the 20th century, designed by Domenico Salza at Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta. Development began with prototypes in 1953, the final design was completed in 1958, and full production commenced in 1959. The PM12 was officially adopted by the Italian government in 1961, replacing the aging Beretta MAB Model 1938 across the Italian Carabinieri, Guardia di Finanza, and State Police. Its robust design and reliability earned it widespread adoption with armed forces and law enforcement across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America, and Asia. The PM12 was also licensed for production in Brazil (Taurus MT-12 / Brazilian Army M972) and Indonesia (Pindad PM1/PM1A1).
The PM12 is built on a blowback-operated, selective-fire, open-bolt action housed in a compact stamped steel tubular receiver. Its most innovative feature is the telescoped bolt, which wraps around a large portion of the barrel — keeping the overall package short while maintaining a full-length 200mm barrel. A grip safety locks both the trigger and bolt in the closed position, preventing accidental discharge if the weapon is dropped or not firmly held. Additional controls include separate cross-bolt push-button fire selector and safety, an integrated forward vertical grip, and a side-folding metal buttstock. Specs: 9x19mm Parabellum, 3.2 kg empty, 418mm/660mm (stock closed/open), 200mm barrel, ~550 RPM cyclic rate, accepts 20, 32, or 40-round magazines, effective range 150–200m.
This is a genuine Italian military surplus Beretta PM12 parts kit in Very Good overall condition with a brown finish. Kit includes the folding stock, one (1) 40-round magazine, and all original components except the folding stock catch, barrel, and receiver.
