Description
A chamber flag, also known as an empty chamber indicator (ECI) or breech flag, is a safety device used to provide a clear visual signal that a firearm's chamber is empty and the action is open. These are in packs of 10 for your convenience. These chamber flags are used and specifically designed to be reusable.
Made of brightly colored materials (typically orange, yellow, or red) to be easily seen by shooters and Range Safety Officers (RSOs) from a distance. The device is inserted into the empty chamber, physically preventing a round from being loaded or the bolt from closing fully. Different sizes and shapes are available for handguns, rifles, and shotguns, with some models designed for specific calibers.
Required at many private gun ranges and competitive shooting events (e.g., USPSA, Steel Challenge) whenever a firearm is not in active use. Also useful when transporting firearms to verify they are unloaded, especially when flying or when handing a firearm to another person. Some flags include built-in features such as a flathead tool for adjusting scope windage or a pin punch for firearm disassembly.
